The name Erangel was actually inspired by PUBG daughter's name, Eryn. The map itself has a very detailed terrain which is composed of open woodland areas, hills and cliffs, as well as highly populated cities. The size of the map is 8 X 8 kilometers but the land mass is only 6 kilometers.
